What is the Developer API?
The Developer API is a collection of functions you can call to add text-to-speech to your website.
Is it for me?
If the text-to-speech functionality you look for is not available through the WordPress plugin or the ResponsiveVoice Agent, the API is for you and will make building it a snap.
How do I install and use it?
Including the API is easy, you just need to include the ResponsiveVoice JS file in the <head> of the pages you want to use ResponsiveVoice in.
After that, you’ll be able to call ResponsiveVoice like any other library. You can find a list and a description of calls available here: http://responsivevoice.org/api/
What license do I need?
The ResponsiveVoice API has two licenses available: the Website API can only be used in static websites, which do not have user-related information or interactions (such as a user system), and do not sell products or services. Other websites will require a Developer API license. You can find more details on the Pricing page.
Additionally, non-commercial, not-for-profit websites (which does not include ad-supported websites) can use ResponsiveVoice completely for free by including the ResponsiveVoice logo and a link to https://www.responsivevoice.org in the relevant pages (more information on that here).
Awesome! Where can I try this?
